MAINTENANCE 4.0  AIMS TO MAKE

 GROOTEGELUK OPERATIONS WORLDCLASS

Our Grootegeluk mine recently launched Maintenance 4.0 – a new way of work that aims to build stronger availability and reliability of assets, while ensuring the mine operates at a world-class level.

Currently, Grootegeluk is operating at 86% of its mining, plant, and service availability, and aims to reach 92% availability by 2024. To achieve this, the focus is on improving its Asset Management system by relooking, developing, and refreshing its processes.

Enhanced Asset Management processes will:

Enable better maintenance planning

Improve the way people create and manage work

Clear processes to help navigate daily duties

Make learning resources available to upskill people in the Asset Management processes

Take a look at how Grootegeluk launched Maintence 4.0 in their journey to achieving engineering excellence.

What will support the journey?

The journey will be inclusive and driven by employees’ inputs and experiences from the field. Regular Visible Felt Leadership sessions will be held by the management team. Change management processes will also support the new way of work.

 CEO BRINGS

 POPCORN TO THE PEOPLE

A CEO handing out popcorn to employees? Only at Exxaro! In true service leadership style, when Dr Nombasa realised the mix-up caused when the
popcorn machine was removed from the conneXXion cafeteria, she took it upon herself to hand out free popcorn to the grateful employees, over two consecutive days. She even wrote on her LinkedIn post: “Now I know how #exxaro colleagues love their #popcorn.” Dr Nombasa promised that the popcorn machine would be returned with immediate effect!
