BELFAST COAL PUTS SAFETY FIRST
FOR 17 SCHOOLS IN EMAKHAZENI

Exxaro’s Digital and Connected Mine, Belfast Coal, in collaboration with the Mohlaloga Investment Group, handed over Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for distribution to 17 schools within the Emakhazeni Local Municipality.

The mine spent R15 000 on hand sanitisers, liquid bleach and hand soap to help enable Covid-19 protocols within the schools, while keeping learners safe.

“Safety is a priority for us, and we urge everyone in the schools to keep safe by observing the Covid-19 protocols,”
said Londolani Rampfumedzi, BU Manager at Belfast

The Department of Education is a key stakeholder of the mine and has been showing support since the inception of its PPE donation drive.

“We would like to offer our word of appreciation to Exxaro for their gesture in donating PPE. It will go a long way in ensuring that we are Covid-19 compliant,” said Majama Sindane, Acting Emakhazeni Circuit Manager.
