PIT Symposium

On 30 and 31 October 2024 Exxaro proudly hosted the annual Professional in Training (PIT) Symposium, themed #CruisingNicely. This dynamic two-day event celebrated innovation, social impact, and the remarkable contributions of our PITs, who showcased their talents, insights, and solutions. This event is a highlight on Exxaro’s development agenda and challenges young professionals to offer innovative solutions to business challenges.

Day 1: Fun Factor Charity Concert

The first day kicked off with agility games designed to foster teamwork, adaptability, and quick thinking. These activities reinforced a resilient “I can” mindset and highlighted the power of collaboration.

A heartfelt Show & Tell session followed, where PITs shared personal stories and photos reflecting their contributions to social and environmental impact. This inspiring showcase culminated in a colourful mosaic of impactful moments, demonstrating our shared commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

The day ended on a high note with the Fun Factor Charity Concert, featuring incredible performances by our PITs and a special appearance by PJ Powers. Proceeds from the event supported the Zodwa Special School for children living with disabilities, reinforcing Exxaro’s dedication to positive social change

Day 2: PIT Presentations

The second day focused on innovation and strategy. PITs presented real-time solutions to operational challenges, aligning their projects with Exxaro’s Sustainable Growth and Impact (SG&I) strategy. The presentations offered PITs a chance to engage with senior leadership and demonstrate their commitment to driving meaningful change.
