NEW WEBSITE TO
REFLECT NEW IPP FOCUS

Cennergi, Exxaro’s 100%-owned renewable energy business, kicked off the new year with a new website to reflect its intention to become a leading international Independent Power Producer (IPP) by 2030.

The new website, which went live on 24 January 2022, received a complete overhaul in keeping with the new rebranding. The new layout, branding and all visual elements have been brought in line with the industry standard for IPPs worldwide.

While the website address remains the same, the content has also been updated to reflect the strategy of the larger Cennergi group of companies and not just the wind farm shareholding company, known as Cennergi Pty Ltd.

With this new website supporting its new vision, Cennergi looks set to achieve its goal by 2030.

NORTHAM PLATINUM WINS “EXXARO BEE DEAL OF THE YEAR” AT DEALMAKERS AWARDS 2021

Northam Platinum has won the “Exxaro BEE Deal of the Year” at DealMakers Awards 2021 for its Zambezi BEE transaction. Exxaro was shortlisted for its disposal of Exxaro Coal Central (ECC).

Every year, DealMakers – a leading corporate finance magazine – releases its Annual Rankings and celebrates the work undertaken by the industry at a Gala Awards Dinner, attended by over 500 guests in Sandton. In addition to the annual awards, the DealMakers magazine publishes a quarterly analysis of all the Mergers & Acquisition, and General Corporate Finance activity for the quarter, along with industry rankings and commentary.

Exxaro has been sponsoring the “BEE Deal of the Year Award” category, which focuses on the top BEE transactions for the previous year, since 2019. The category is judged by an independent panel according to a number of criteria, including:

 

  • transformational aspects of the deal
  • execution complexity
  • deal size
  • potential value creation of the deal.

LEEUWPAN BU MANAGER APPOINTED CHAIRPERSON OF SACMA NORTHERN REGION

Mangaliso Sethethi was recently appointed as the new chairperson of The South African Colliery Managers’ Association (SACMA) for the Northern Region – a well-deserved honour for the Leeuwpan Business Unit Manager. SACMA is an organisation of Colliery Mining Managers, which represents eight mining houses and 43 mine operations across four provinces. Exxaro wishes Mangaliso well in his new role.
