From khaki shirts to silky saris and beautiful shweshwe, Heritage Day was on full display when we gathered at our various Exxaro locations to celebrate our proud heritage, history, and cultures.

To mark both Heritage Month and Arbour Month, the conneXXion held a special event to celebrate Exxaro’s commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace and sustainability across the business.
Employees were asked to dress in either a Heritage Day or Arbour Day outfit, to stand a chance of winning one of three Exxaro hampers worth R5 000.
“Our workforce represents the rich tapestry of South Africa’s culture and traditions. This diversity isn’t just a statistic; it’s a source of strength. Inclusion is at the heart of our success, where every voice matters, and every perspective is valued,” Johan Meyer, Exxaro’s Chief Technology Officer.
Johan also shared why our sustainability efforts are so important to the future and the role each of us play. “We’re not just working for today. We’re crafting a legacy for tomorrow. Each one of us holds the power to shape a brighter future. Our actions, both within these walls and outside them, matter.”
