GROOTEGELUK CELEBRATES 10 YEARS FATALITY-FREE MILESTONE
Grootegeluk marked an incredible milestone on 20 October 2022 of 10 years fatality free and the official celebration was held on Thursday, 30 March this year.
Kgabi Masia, Managing Director Minerals spoke about enabling a zero-harm production, behaviour, culture, and operational discipline and said that these milestones should not be seen as achievements, but rather as motivation to inspire all to focus on fatality elimination strategies, especially with regards to Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) related fatalities where regression has
been seen.
General Manager, Ronaldt Mafoko, thanked and congratulated all Grootegeluk employees for reaching the huge milestone and highlighted that it was not an easy journey, especially working in such a big operation. Through commitment, working together, and good safety leadership zero harm is possible.
The event was honoured by Exxaro OPCO and EXCO members as well as external stakeholders including the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) and Waterberg FM.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CALLS US TO #BEATPLASTICPOLLUTION
Our Matla mine joined the world in commemorating World Environment Day on 5 June 2023 by hosting an information sharing session under the theme “Solutions to plastic pollution”.
The session, led by Environmental Specialist, Elelwani Nethavhani, spoke to the protection of the environment and the changes we need to make in our everyday lives to beat plastic pollution.
