Leeuwpan WiM hosted a Women’s High Tea

On 26 August, the Leeuwpan WiM Committee hosted a Women’s High Tea at the Delmas Country Lodge, where the women added to the festivities by coming dressed up in vintage hats. The event included a wealth of motivational speakers and fun activities, including tips on healthy living. Eva Makhabane delivered the keynote address before lunch was served and prizes were awarded for the best dressed. The day ended with the attendees receiving gifts to thank them for being such a valuable part of the business and community.

The conneXXion’s Exhilarating Women’s Wellness Experience

Women’s wellness was on the agenda for two days on 22 and 23 August at the conneXXion. Our women were spoilt with pamper sessions to choose from that included hand massages, henna tattoo applications, manicures and make up by Sigi Shaw. A mobile CANSA clinic was provided for cervical and breast screening. Talks on offer ranged from the fun, “Something naughty and nice” with sex therapist Kylee Montgomery to the more serious with Andiswa Lefakane who spoke on the all-important topic of “Stress and the working women”. Andiswa shared insights on the types of stress and its causes, factors affecting women in the workplace, the signs of burnout and strategies to manage stress.

Belfast’s Women’s Day event brings women and wellbeing together

The women of Belfast Mine celebrated Women’s Day with a women’s wellness and wellbeing event, organised by the WiM Committee.

The event, which was held at the Corn and Cob farm, boasted a range of speakers focusing on mental health, financial wellness, and gender equality. The women were also treated to stress-relieving activities like pilates, painting and massages, with the aim to fostering a lifestyle of wellbeing and enhanced creativity.

“We are gathered here to honour ‘Izimbokodo’ for their amazing work and positive energy in the mining sector”, exclaimed Acting Business Unit Manager, Lesta Makhabela.

Vumi Msweli, a career coach, spoke to the importance of women taking a more proactive role in their career advancements. Other speakers included Jaruska Warricker from Careways, a wellness company, and Nokuzola Ntiwane from Old Mutual.
