EXXARO HELPS
SCHOOL GIRLS STAY IN SCHOOL
Our Grootegeluk Mine cares about helping young learners stay in school. It recently donated over 1 000 sanitary pads to support girl learners, in partnership with “Funfit with Queen Funanani” – a non-profit organisation that focuses on community development and fitness programmes in Lephalale.
Many young girls in South Africa are forced to skip school when they get their period, for lack of access to sufficient sanitary products. By donating these sanitary pads, Grootegeluk Mine will not only help more girl learners stay in school, but also improve their self-confidence and support their health and wellbeing. The programme was rolled out at various schools within

Lephalale and is just one of the many ways Exxaro continues to Power Possibility by uplifting its communities and promoting inclusion.
Exxaro is a family. We may all have different ranks and roles, but we all deserve to be treated with respect, in line with our company values, standards and expectations. That’s where a Family Code of Conduct comes in – It helps us know exactly
how we need to behave and what behaviour we can expect from others. In that way, it’s less rules and more about setting and managing expectations that help us build a culture of tolerance and respect.
Our Family Code of Conduct outlines 10 behaviours we should expect of ourselves and others to ensure we always bring our best selves to work, without fear or favour.

Have you spotted our Honesty Boxes?
The honesty box is a physical stand, that is installed in various areas around each Business Unit (including the conneXXion).
There are two reasons for employees to use the Honesty Box:
Employees are encouraged to share any innovative ideas they may have that can assist our business improvement processes and operational excellence.
Employees who have a serious complaint, challenge or problem which has not been resolved through existing Business Unit protocols or the Exxaro Hotline, should make use of this form to submit their queries.
