Take COVID-19 care
- Get vaccinated (and tell your family and friends to get vaccinated too!)
- Wash hands and use hand sanitiser when you can’t
- Wear a mask
- Social distance, keep social gatherings small, limited and preferably outdoors
- Avoid crowds
- Open windows
- Do shopping during off-peak times or shop online

Protect your home when you’re not there
- Switch off all unnecessary appliances
- If you have a house alarm, check that it’s working
- If you don’t have a house-sitter, let a friendly neighbour know that you are going to be away
- Check that all doors are locked and that the gate closes behind you when you leave
- Make sure your pets are well cared for

Safe travels
- If you’re driving check that your car is roadworthy
- Share your trip details with family or friends
- Pack the car carefully so that you have a good view out of all windows and mirrors
- Plan your route with regular stops (every two hours)
- Follow the road rules, like maintaining a safe following distance and sticking to the speed limit
- Don’t drink and drive
- Don’t text and drive
- Keep young kids in car seats and all children in the back seat and buckled up

Be street savvy
- Keep your handbag closed and hold it tight
- Keep valuables hidden
- Don’t leave your personal possessions in the shopping trolley
- Stay away from deserted or dark places
- Don’t walk or wait for a lift on the highway
Fun in the sun,
the safe way
- Swim in designated areas where lifeguards are present
- If you’re at the beach check the beach for warning flags
- Watch kids carefully – don’t allow them to swim without adult supervision
- Don’t allow kids or adults, who can’t swim, into the water without a floating device
- Wear sunscreen! And a hat when you’re not in the water
- Drink enough water
