Restoring Dignity,
One Learner at a Time
The first quarter of the year marks the perfect opportunity to launch education-focused initiatives through impactful back-to-school campaigns. Grootegeluk participated in their annual learner-hygiene drive. Giving hope and dignity to local students.
A Community United for a Cause
This year’s learner-hygiene drive reinforced the power of collective action. Employees, unions and contractors were encouraged to contribute donations and the response exceeded all expectations. Providing personal care essentials helps restore dignity and confidence of learners when they step into the new academic year.
Through this initiative and the generous contributions, Grootegeluk successfully reached 863 learners from three schools across all Department of Education circuits within the Lephalale Municipality. The overwhelming support from various stakeholders played a crucial role in making this initiative possible.
Our supporters included Dunlop, Bonec, Mei Projects, Mineral Processing Guru (MPG), PBSA, Ragna Industrial, as well as NUM and AMCU unions.
A Commitment Beyond the Classroom
Beyond the immediate impact of providing hygiene essentials, this initiative highlights Grootegeluk’s broader commitment to Human Rights advocacy. In a landscape where socio-economic challenges persist within host communities, these distributed items serve as more than just necessities—they are symbols of care, support, and dedication to uplifting the lives of those in need.
