Standing Together Against GBVF:
16 Days of Activism
Exxaro employees united in a powerful stand against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) during the global 16 Days of Activism campaign, which runs annually from 25 November to 10 December. This initiative calls for collective action to confront the scourge of GBVF and foster safer communities for all.
At Grootegeluk, employees joined the movement with a meaningful activation led by the Women in Mining (WiM) Committee, featuring a peaceful march on Monday, 25 November. The march not only highlighted Exxaro’s zero-tolerance stance on GBVF but also served as a platform to amplify awareness and encourage dialogue.
Significantly, members of the newly formed Grootegeluk Ibandla Men’s Forum also participated, reinforcing that ending GBVF is a shared responsibility. Their involvement echoed the vital message that meaningful change requires collective action across all genders.
Employees across Exxaro are encouraged to speak out, challenge harmful norms, and advocate for safe spaces where everyone can thrive free from violence and fear. Together, we uphold the message: #NotInExxaro’sName.
Let’s continue to work as one team to drive meaningful change and ensure Exxaro remains a safe and inclusive space for all.
